Dear Brixton Friends,
Summer is one of our favorite times of the year! We pack so much in and we love all the updates we get to bring you. The Morrison Family made a lot of great memories this summer: Family reunions, camping adventures, new puppy(Wyatt), new haircuts, new glasses and a huge trip across the Altantic. It’s been a summer to remember. Before we knew it Eva and Ellie are back in school starting 2nd grade! They love school. Reading and math are their strengths, but art and PE are their favorites. Brian has been mountain biking and Jenn has been continuing classes part-time at Regis. It’s been a busy summer at the Morrison’s. Big news at Brixton with over 80 homes sold in the last year!! In addition, the Bachman Farm Project is finished with 16 new homes for Golden. TK Morrison built them and Brixton sold them. It was a success! TK Morrison is onto building 36 more homes over the next year for homeowners and new projects. Watch for a flip project coming up in Mesa View soon along with four new homes near downtown Golden. In addition, we are moving our headquarters to downtown Golden, read more below. Brian’s Perspective – History of TK Morrison’s Style

In my 15 years as a Denver realtor, I have grown a diverse appreciation for the variety of architecture in our city  neighborhoods. I especially appreciate the classic styles that fill the majority of our streets. About six years ago I set out to adapt these old homes into modern, functional, and open homes. The first innovative design started with the Denver Square.

The Denver Square is an iconic architectural style from the late 1800’s, and could be sent to your site as a kit from the Sears catalogue: http://brixtonrealestate.com/denver-square/ Today the Denver Squares do not come to market often, and when they do, they are expensive and the old layouts with the only bathroom on the second floor typically does not work for our modern day clients. we adapted the style to continue with their classic beauty while adding highly optioned and cost effective design. Keeping with the Denver history in hot neighborhoods around town has been well received. Now TK Morrison builds dozens of these homes around Denver and beyond. In the TK Morrison section below you will learn more about the traditionally historic designs that we have adapted to meet modern needs, such as the Victorian and Craftsman style of home, yet our Denver Square continues to be our most requested model.

Market Watch

In the past few years we have watched the market flatten gradually. Although this may not be what you hear on social media or the news, it is a settling from a roller coaster that just seemed to keep climbing. Luckily, we also have not experienced a deep drop with a drastically declining market either. Inventory is still far behind market demand while the frenzy has also slowed. Possibly people are waiting for more market clarity in politics, trade, interest rates, etc. For now, we are staying steady and afloat in the Colorado real estate market.

Brixton Buzz

Brixton is moving! We are in the process of remodelling a new office   in an unique old gas station in Golden! We will be in the center of all the shops and restaurants off Jackson and 19th street. The space will be shared office space for both Brixton and TK Morrison. Watch for our grand opening party invitation!
